Kilkenny’s medieval-city Christmas festival, held on The Parade beneath the towers of Kilkenny Castle. Runs each weekend from late November to just before Christmas, with extra opening on the final days.

What’s on: craft stalls and Irish makers, the Yulefest live music stage every weekend, Santa’s arrival by boat along the River Nore, the Ireland’s Medieval Mile Run, a Christmas Tree Festival, movie nights and a Santa Truck.

Opening hours: Saturdays 11am-8pm; Sundays 11am-6pm; extra daily opening Dec 21-23.
